First, add a chicken breast, (or any parts of chicken if chicken breast is not available), turmeric, water and salt and chopped onions to a pot and cook. Then chop the chicken breast.
Now we make the sour cherry syrup. First be sure the cherries are seedless and add them to a pan or pot. Add sugar and put on a gentle heat (remember not to add water) keep stirring till the syrup is ready.
Then pour a little oil in a frying pan or add a little cooked shredded chicken, fry for a few minutes and then add the syrup. Keep heating for a few more minutes.
Now, pour the cooked rice in a pot and make a pile. Add the mixture of meat and syrup to the middle of pile of rice. Put on a very gentle heat till it is steam cooked. Finally, serve on a dish, pour saffron water, and decorate with chopped almond and pistachio.
